A second chance for deserving dogs
Introduction
I do love a story that has a happy ending, and this story will not disappoint. Let me share with you a story about a very deserving rescue dog, that was doomed for a very unpleasant ending, within just days of being rescued. However, before I can tell you that story, let me tell you the back story first.
To begin with there are dogs with the title of Police Search and Rescue Dogs, and Police Rescue Dogs. In some Law Enforcement departments around the country, Search and Rescue dogs who are at the end of their career, can also be adopted.
This is usually after a long K-9 career is over, or due the dog has developed a certain type of a medical issue, or perhaps has been working for more than nine years. Either way, a well-deserved adoption is appreciated.
Several people are familiar with Search and Rescue Dogs which search for narcotics and contraband. However, there are other reasons and purposes for the use of Police K-9 Dogs as well.
