Week of 21–27 November Writing Prompt
Gratitude, Part I
Something I learned at an early age
GRATITUDE
Something instilled in me at an early age
Thank you, Nancy Blackman, MASF, for another great prompt in your publication, Refresh the Soul.
As I read the prompt, and saw the word gratitude, it only meant one thing to me. It reminded me of my Mom when she was a single working Mom raising three teenagers alone. However, her main motto in life was always, “Be thankful for everything God has given you.” To me that is true gratitude.
Accepting others
Editor Nancy Blackman, MASF, asks two thought-provoking questions:
1. How can I be more accepting of others who are different from me?
First, I believe that is a two-way street. 1) how can I be more accepting of them, and 2) how can they be more accepting of me as well?
Also, what do I need to do to show them I want to be their friend?
I believe the answer that links both of those two questions above is the word trust. Each person has to make an effort to be friends true enough. But each person should also trust the other person as well.
