I had much rather be "Nice." than important. What a shocker.
It reminds me of two Supervisors I had. Each had the same rank. Supervisor #1 was known to be nice. He got the most out of his people for being that nice Supervisor. I was no different. I would do anything for this man. Work late, all night, no problem. Mainly because I knew he would be working beside me.
Supervisor #2 was more focused on being important, and in some weird way, it was our mistakes that kept him from his fame.
Overall and even as I teach today, I try to apply Supervisor #1 Nice attitude to everything I do.
