Is this ever a good idea?

Tis is a picture of a young man on the telephone. My article is about my doctor calling me directly on a Friday morning at 8:30am. Is it ever a good idea when your Doctor calls you directly at 8:30am? PS: the picture in this article is not a picture of my Doctor. Enjoy the article. Wire Editor Newman, a.k.a. AL.

Friday morning, at 8:25am I receive a phone call. I get very few calls early in the morning, and even fewer on a Friday morning. However, with a 97 year old Dad in the nursing home, my phone rings 24/7.

Still and all, this was an early phone call. I had just done the zombie coffee walk from the bedroom to the coffee pot, when the phone rang. I did not have my best voice working this early. Then I see on my phone it is my Doctor’s office calling.

I expected to hear my Nurse say Mr. Newman, this is ______ (name delete). I was never more surprised to hear my Doctor announce himself, and he immediately said, “I have some good news for you.”

Just him saying he had good news for me, was good news to me. The last time a Doctor called me personally, was when my beautiful Downs Syndrome daughter was born. I am kind of leery when a Doctor calls me direct.

However, today I was never so wrong.

If you remember my last article of me having a bone scan, and or me shadow boxing in the rest room, (it’s a long story), my Doctor had the results from the bone scan. He told me he just got the results, and he did not want to wait to tell me the good news.
