Simply put, I have never had time to volunteer. That might sound horrible, but true.

When I retired after 32 years of full time service, I went to work full time at my present job the very next day, and I have been there for 9 years now.

After reading and agreeing with your article, I totally get it. I would not have the patience to volunteer.

However, my "Volunteering dream job" is to volunteer to any coffee company to be a full time volunteer coffee taste tester, or as a full time recliner tester... Or both... I would never quit that volunteering job. Just a thought.

If I did volunteer it would be as a server during the holidays, as in serving food at a shelter or a church during Thanksgiving or Christmas.

I would love that.
