Super-Hero, Saint, Sailor

I Will Miss You Dad

I was only five
When Mom took me to the docks
I remember seeing my Dad
At the end of a long board walk.

I ran to him, as fast as I could
And I jumped up into his arms
Such a tall handsome man
And full of so much charm.

I was his very little shadow
And he was my Superman
My Dad could do no wrong
As he hugged me with his great big hands.

When I was so scared
I knew I could always run to him
As he was my Father…
As well as he was my best friend.

When he drove his 57 Chevy
He would let me hold the wheel
I pretended I was a race car driver
Is the way, that I would feel.
