The Cajun Boat Captain

A tribute to a Dad and a Captain

Some call them tug boats
But they are really called a tow
Listen to this Captain
In what you should know.

She is so beautiful
As we look at the mighty river
I’m at my peace
Every time that I’m with her.

I push these barges
All the way north to Ohio
That’s a long way there
From down here in the bayou.

Some said I should be a Lawyer
But I will let my Son do that
I’m just so happy
When the crew calls me Cap.

You can’t be a Cajun,
Unless you can tell a good story
There might be some truth
Trust your Captain, don’t you worry.

The river was so clam
The day we were leaving
We are off to Ohio
We’ll make it, keep believing.
