The Pawn Shop Man

I seem to mess up
With most everything
And that includes
My wedding ring.

Love is forever
That’s what I was told
But the Pawn Shop man said
20 bucks and consider it sold.

I felt so good
When the Pawn Shop man
Put that 20 bucks
In the palm of my hand.

I took that 20
And bought me some gas.
But in this BIG ole’ Caddy
That 20 bucks won’t last

I took an old coin
That my Granddad had
What the Pawn Shop man gave me
Sorta’ made me sad.

With 5 more bucks
I can go another mile
Driving this Caddy
Does make me smile
