Using Your Five Senses

How to cheer up a nine-year-old boy who lost his dad

First, I would like to thank Nancy Blackman, MASF for another great prompt. Even more important, it gave me something to write about on this Monday morning.

How to express my five senses

This was easy for me to write because I immediately thought of this one time in my life when all my senses were in full swing. This was when I went to the State Fair for the first time as a child.

So, the winner is: The Louisiana State Fair

Warning, there will be a car reference here. Just to let you know.

One of my Dad’s best friends and a huge friend of the family was our family doctor. So much, in fact, he was considered our Godfather. Well, this doctor (name deleted) and his wife took me and my Mom to the State Fair one month after my dad passed away. The good doctor wanted to bring a smile back to my face and just cheer me up. Just riding in his car, mentioned below, did all of that for me.
