What Career Advice Would You Give Your 16-Year-Old Self?
This answer might surprise you
Here is another great challenge from Nancy Blackman, Editor and Publisher of Refresh the Soul. This being # 19 in a 30-day Series. Here goes:
What career advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
There is so much career advice I could tell my 16-year-old self. I have learned so much throughout the years of good jobs versus bad jobs.
However, I don’t think my 16-year-old self would even listen to me. I am not sure how much career advice information I listened to at 16, besides my Mom saying, “Get a job doing what you enjoy doing.” That wisdom has worked a lifetime for me.
At 16, I was working for a car dealership in town, basically prepping cars to be sold. I got to drive some new cars into the showroom, I drove the salesman’s cars off the lot for various reasons, there was nothing I would have changed at 16 with that job.
I was treated like family. Why would I change that?
To be honest, I have enjoyed all my career choices. I enjoyed being a First Responder for 32 years, and I would do it all over again.
