I read an article by Nancy Blackman today that prompts the question, what makes a friendship blossom? There is more to her story than that and you can read more in the link to her story below.

Friendship Needs Love, Courage, Kindness, and Encouragement to Blossom | by Nancy Blackman | Refresh the Soul | May, 2022 | Medium

I would tell you more about her story, but you know what we say, Nancy and Mr. Algorithm both would appreciate it if you read and comment on her article.

What a Motivation Speaker Once Said

Back in college, we once had a motivational speaker in a rare Sunday evening assembly. I don’t remember much of what he said, except for this one line.

The speaker said, “It does not impress me how many friends you have. What impresses me and what should impress you is how long you have had these friends.” I apologize. I do not remember the speaker's name and I am more than sure I just paraphrased or butchered his message.

He went on to say, people will say they have friends, perhaps a lot of friends, however in a year from now, where are they? Are they still your friends? He said what impresses him is when someone can say, “I have been friends with this person for 5 years, 10 years, or more.”
